I am the first funeral director in my family.
Born and raised in Grindstone, I graduated from Brownsville Area High School in 1991. I continued my education, graduating from California University of PA and The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. I personally do the embalming at the funeral home and I am a licensed Pennsylvania Life Insurance Agent.
I am married to the former Janice Black. I attend Fort Burd UP Church and am a member of the Greater Brownsville Area Chamber of Commerce, member and former Past President of the Grindstone Lions Club, Brownsville Fire Co. No. 1 (Northside), Mon-Valley Funeral Directors Assn. and I am a board member of the Southwestern Funeral Directors Assn. As of May 25, 2005, I was also appointed Deputy Coroner for the Brownsville Area by the Fayette Co. Coroner P.E. Reilly, MD. I also design and manage the funeral homes website and social media sites. I am an avid golfer.
I take great pride in being a funeral director and helping those who call on me when in time of need.

Karen Novak
Greeter / Gardener
Karen is the mother of Jason. She lives in Grindstone with husband, John. She is a greeter at the funeral home and is our gardener. She is a certified Penn State Master Gardener. Karen also works at Fort Burd Preschool as a teachers aide. She is a member of Fort Burd UP Church in Brownsville. |

Bill Johns
Greeter
Bill lives in Brownsville, PA. He is a greeter at the funeral home. Bill has been a member of the funeral home staff since March of 2000. Bill is also employed by Pretty Petals, Brownsville, PA and a member of St. Mary's RC Church in Brownsville. Until its closing, now he attends St. Peter's RC Church, also in Brownsville.
