Walter Lincoln Tunney

Walter Lincoln Tunney, 81, of Blainesburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 12, 1934, in West Brownsville, PA, the son of Clifford and Mabel (McCleary) Tunney. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Phillips Tunney and ten siblings.

Walter graduated from California Area High School in 1952. He joined the United States Army from 1956-1958, and then the reserves for two more years. After the Army he was an outside salesman for many years. He then became a self employed business owner when he bought Videoland in Grindstone, PA.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a member of the United Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Coal Center, PA where he belonged to the Christian Men's Fellowship and was a past member of the Board of Directors. He enjoyed going to the Center In The Woods, Brownsville, PA, where he started a dart ball league, played cards and built puzzles. Walter volunteered his time for many years delivering Meals on Wheels. His favorite hobby was golfing. Also he enjoyed spending time with his wonderful friend, Jeanne DellaPenna and loving K-9 friend, Duchess.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tracey L. Killius, St. Petersburg, FL and Cynthia R. Fox, Uniontown, PA; four grandchildren, Kellie A. Costa, Tampa, FL, Tracey M. Luckey, Uniontown, PA, Brandon M. Killius, St. Petersburg, FL and Brittany N. Killius, St. Petersburg, FL; six great grandchildren, Jasmine, Abigail, David Jr., Tyler, Landon and Brody; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Monday, April 13, 2015 until 10:30 AM, the hour of service with the Rev. Jana Quisenberry officiating.

Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made in Walter's name to the Center In The Woods, 130 Woodland Court, Brownsville, PA 15417.
