Susan Kathleen (Miller) Gordon

Susan Kathleen (Miller) Gordon, 87, of Brownsville, PA, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at her daughter, Kay Chrobak's, home in Brownsville.

She was born January 19, 1924, in Alice, West Virginia the daughter of Edna Merle (Southhall) and Wayne Watson Miller.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Gregg Gordon, February 16, 1998 and   son- in- law Edmond J. Chrobak, August 3, 1995.

Susan worked in the Social Security office in Baltimore from 1943 to 1945 as part as the home front effort during WWII , where she met her future husband , who  was stationed at nearby Aberdeen Proving Grounds, before shipping to Europe with the 99th Infantry Division.  She also worked at the Brownsville General Hospital from 1963 to 1974.  Susan was a member of the Fort Burd Presbyterian Church in Brownsville.

She will be sadly missed by her three children, William Gregg Gordon II, Chalk Hill, PA, Jack Edward Gordon, Sewickly, PA and Kay Lorraine Chrobak, Brownsville, PA; five grandchildren, Jamie Dawn Chrobak, Edmond Jeffrey Chrobak and wife Brandee, William Michael Gordon, Kristen Susan Gordon and William Gregg Gordon III; two great grandchildren Matthew and Benjamin Chrobak; four sisters, Eva Jean Dewey, New Orleans, LA, Lucille Himel, Thibodaux, LA, Margaret Ann Goodwin, Celina, OH and Betty June Walker, Spencer, WV as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from  2-4 and 6-8PM  and Wednesday, December 14, 2011 until 11:00 AM the hour of service with the Rev. Steven Morganti officiating.

Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville, PA.
