Sarah Ellen (Pirt) Parsons

Sarah Ellen (Pirt) Parsons, age 84, Brownsville, Pa., passed away early Monday morning, October 5, 2015 at the Mon Valley Hospital after battling lung cancer.

She was born November 26, 1930 in Centerville, Pa., daughter of Elizabeth Virginia (Rush) Pirt and George Henry Pirt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman Ray Parsons, Sr.; sisters, Grace Glagola, Betty Flick, and Donna Frisco; and brothers George Pirt and Gerald Pirt.

She attended East Bethlehem Township high school and worked various retail jobs in Brownsville throughout her life. She was a member of the South Brownsville United Methodist church. Sarah devoted her life to her family and would have celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary October 6th 2015 Sarah is survived by her 3 children; daughter, Cindy Wardman (Tom), daughter, Gai Parsons (Jim) and son Ray Parsons (Leslie); granddaughters: Kellie Wardman (Jodie), Keri Wardman (Justin), Kendle and Mallory Parsons; six sisters, Hannah Stevens (James), Martha Cumashot, Patricia Dunseath, Mary Jane Black, Wanda Williams (David), and Roberta Dugan (James); brother Joseph Pirt (Alice) and brother-in-law Earnest Flick; and numerous nieces and nephews..

Services are under the direction of NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, Brownsville Pa, and will be held on Wednesday, October 7th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with funeral services directly following at 8 PM.
