Roy Andrew Sluk, Sr., 71, of West Brownsville, PA, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at home.
He was born August 21, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Andrew and June (Christy) Sluk. he was preceded in death by his father Andrew and his first wife Carolyn Rose Sluk.
Roy was a fire fighter in the United States Air Force. After the Air Force he joined the Boilmakers and retired as the V.P. of Local 906. Roy was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Membership Officer for Mon Valley A.B.A.T.E, the V.P. of Legion Riders of Brownsville and a member of the Eagle Riders F.O.E.
He will be sadly missed by his mother June, his wife Patricia Sluk, three children: Roy A. Sluk, Jr. and wife Melissa, Rostraver, PA, Yvonne M. Snodgrass and husband William, Belle Vernon, PA and Mark C. Sluk and wife Jeanne, Jefferson Hill, PA; nineteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister Joanne Coudriet and husband Donald, Reno, NV, two brothers, John Sluk, Ohio and Jim Sluk and wife Jeannie, Pittsburgh, PA; several nieces and nephews and his dog Ginger.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Saturday, December 22, 2012 and Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Prayers of Transfer will be at 10:30 am Monday, December 24, 2012 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA with Rev. Father Joseph Armamento as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cailfornia, PA. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 295, 940 and 838.
