Rosemary J. Urick

Rosemary J. Urick, 67, of California, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Jefferson Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born May 19, 1947, in Brownsville, PA the daughter of Albert and Mary (Petrosky) Lashinsky. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Rosemary graduated from California High School in May of 1965. While attending high school she also graduated from the beauty academy in Charleroi, PA in March of 1965. She worked as a beautician for 10 years until "retiring", to raise her daughter. Later she went to work in food services at California University of Pennsylvania. Rosemary decided to go back to school in the early 1990's and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with her degree in Social Services. She was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in California, PA and she was President for the last four years of the Zoning and Hearing Board for California Borough.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Russell D. Urick, California, PA; daughter Shelley Jones and husband Matthew, Leesburg, VA; two granddaughters Breanne and Raena Jones both of Leesburg, VA and brother Albert Lashinsky, Jr., Daisytown, PA.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA ,today, August 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers of Transfer will be said on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in the funeral home at 10:15 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial following in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in California, PA at 11:00 AM with Rev. Father Michael Zavage as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Phillipsburg Cemetery in California, PA.
