Robert E. Shumar. “Uncle Bobby”, 78, of Denbo - (Vesta #6), PA, currently residing in St. Petersburg, FL, he passed away on Monday March 11, 2013.
He was born March 3, 1935, in East Millsboro, PA, the son of Robert and Pauline (Wasko) Shumar. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah “Sally”Shumar, ; his son, Robert Shumar; his brother, William Shumar; and his brother-in-laws, Rodney Meade and Raymond Domke.
He was a member of New Beginning Community Church – St. Petersburg, FL, a proud member of many organizations, such as: Brownsville F & AM Lodge #60, a lifetime member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh, PA, the National Rifle Association, the Nixon Gun Club of Brownsville, PA, many other sportsman clubs of Pennsylvania, the NAACP, and the United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Paul) Brandt, Greensburg, PA; two grandchildren, Frank (Julie) Angelli, Michelle (James) Vasiloff; several great-grandchildren, all of Brownsville, PA; his sisters, Edna Basham, Rockville, MD, Garnet (Keyser) Domke, St. Petersburg, FL, Sandra Meade, Beltsville, MD, and his niece, Jody Shwallon, her husband Joe, their sons, Ryan and Wade, with whom he resided with while living in Florida.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 6-9 PM and on Thursday, March 21, 2013 until 11:00 AM the hour of service with Pastor Celestin Biandudi officiating.
Brownsville F&AM Lodge #60 will hold a Masonic service in the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 pm
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
