Robert McCready Huston

Robert McCready Huston, 83, of Vanderbilt, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at UPMC St Margaret, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born January 23, 1932, in Brownsville, PA, the son of Smith and Christina (Williams) Huston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jane (Simon) Huston and sister June Galuardi.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Japan. He worked for Knisley Dairy Company and then went to work for the government in civil service until he retired. Robert was a member of the former Curfew Grange #1052, I.O.O.F. #1030 Charleroi, PA, General George C. Marshall Post 51 Uniontown, PA and Walter E. Brown VFW Post 21 Connellsville, PA. He also belonged to the Vanderbilt United Methodist Church.

He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Stacey Lynn Hahn and husband Bob, Strafford, MO and Rev. Mary Ellen Beene and husband Eric, Savannah, GA; two sisters, Jean Bright and husband Bill, Brownsville, PA and Sheila Swords and grandson Isaac Beene.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Monday, August 17, 2015 and Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Vicky Lynch officiating.

Interment will follow in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery in Flatwoods, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to the Vanderbilt United Methodist Church, RR 201, Vanderbilt, PA 15486.
