Richard E. Whiting

Richard E. Whiting, age 76, of Brownsville, PA, passed away Sunday April 24, 2005 at his home. He was born in East Millsboro, PA on February 28, 1928, and was the son of the late Forrest James and Elizabeth Whiting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willard F. Whiting.
Richard retired after working many years as a carpenter. He also served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn E. Whiting, of Uniontown, PA and Lillian E. Whiting Wood of Annadale, VA, one nephew, Willard Wesley Whiting of Dunbar, PA, one niece, Maureen E. Long of Lemont Furnace, PA and many, many dear friends.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME (formerly Confer Funeral Home), 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA, on Thursday, April 28, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Friday April 29, 2005, until 11:00 AM, the hour of service.
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA with full military honors accorded by American Legion Posts No. 940, 175, 838 and 295.
