Richard Cramer, Sr. Obituary

Richard Allen Cramer, Sr., 85, of Grindstone, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown, WV with his loving family at his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen (Gribble) Cramer and Russell Cramer; brothers, Charles Cramer, Russell Cramer, Jr. and Jerry Cramer and sister Lois Perry

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Kay Cramer, of Grindstone, PA, daughter, Lynn Dee Thayer and husband Robert, of Flat Rock, MI, 2 sons, Richard Cramer, Jr. and wife Kathy, of Brownsville, PA and Scott Cramer, of Indiana, PA; brother, Louis Cramer and wife Rosemary, of Canton, OH, 2 sisters, Marlene Haviland of Kentucky and Lydia Cramer of Canton, OH; 10 Grandchildren, Calvin, Noah, Kate, Alli, Andrew, Emma, Owen, Hannah, Payton and Lincoln and Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Richard served 7 years in the US Air Force and retired after 21 years in the Coast Guard as an aviation tech where he was awarded the Coast Guard Medal for Bravery.  He worked as an electrician for the Monongahela Railroad and Clairton Steel Mill and also drove 18 years as a truck driver for Mayflower Trucking.  He attended church at the Bible Baptist Church in Brownsville, PA.  Richard loved gardening, bike riding and helping anyone that was in need and most of all spending time with his children, friends and family.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Friday, August 30, 2019 in the Bible Baptist Church of Brownsville from 10-11 AM the hour of service with the Pastor Tommy Dallas officiating. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bus Ministry at the Bible Baptist Church, 729 Lewis Street, Brownsville, PA  15417

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA
