Richard Lawrence "Chunce" Beck

Richard Lawrence "Chunce" Beck, 67, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela, PA.

He was born July 24, 1940 in Blainesburg, PA, Washington County, the son of Kathleen Holzapfel and the late Michael Beck.

He was preceded in death by his Step father Harry D. Holzapfel, brother Darell G. Beck, and his father Michael Beck.

Richard was a proud member of the United States Army, serving in Key West, FL. He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Brownsville, West Brownsville American Legion Post# 940, California Hill Gun Club, California, PA, Disabled American Veterans and a social member of Hiller Volunteer Fire Department, Hiller, PA.

He is survived by his mother Kathleen Holzapfel with whom he made his home. He is also survived by his son Lawrence Arthur Beck and his wife Lisa, their daughters Lauren and Larissa, a sister Shirley Beck Johnson, two brothers Ernest Tunney and Jerry Beck, and their families, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA today from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm, tomorrow from 2 -4 and 7 - 9 pm and Monday, August 27, 2007 until 10:00 am, the hour of service with the Rev. Paul Sandusky officiating.

Interment will follow at the James Chapel Cemetery, Finleyville, PA

American Legion Posts #940, 175, 838, and 295 will conduct military services on Sunday August 26, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
