Raymond E. Howe, Jr., 71, of Brownsville, PA, passed away Saturday April 7, 2012 at home after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born November 7, 1940 in Brownsville, PA, the son of Elma (Shepley) and Raymond E. Howe, Sr.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Louis G. Wheeler, who died in 1969 in Vietnam, his grandson Louis Hostetler and brother Jack Howe.

Raymond was a longtime member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder.  Also he was a member of the West Brownsville American Legion Post 940 and a social member of the Hiller Volunteer Fire Department.

Raymond retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, PA, around 10 years ago,  where he worked as a mill rite.  Before he began his career in the steel industry, Raymond, was in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War

He will be sadly missed by his wife Dolores F. Wheeler Howe, Brownsville, PA; four children Lori L. Graham, Uniontown, PA, Hilary E. Hostetler and husband Ronald, Brownsville, PA, Tad K. Wheeler and wife Vicki, Uniontown, PA and Rod H. Wheeler and wife Nancy, Uniontown, PA; six grandchildren, Ronald E. Hostetler, Jr. and wife Kristy, Ericka L. Johnson and husband Thomas, Jr., Walter Gillis and wife Rebecca, Mackenzie Wheeler, Madison Wheeler and Morgan Wheeler; four great grandchildren, Christian E. Hostetler, Jackson J. Hostetler, Gage A. Gillis and August M. Gillis; and his sister-in-law Nancy Howe, Stow, OH.

There will be no public visitation.  Professional services and arrangements are in the care of NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA.
