Ralph Christy Bill

Ralph Christy Bill, 74, of Uniontown, passed away unexpectedly on June 18th, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Ralph was born on April 24, 1951, in Brownsville, to the late Samuel Joseph Jr. and Rose Marie (Burns) Bill.

Roman Catholic by faith; Ralph was a member of St. Therese De Lisieux in Uniontown. Ralph was a talented musician and loved playing several instruments, especially the trumpet. Ralph was a music teacher and band director for 34 years in Brownsville Area School District and a member of the PSEA-Retired.

Ralph played in numerous bands and orchestras such as the Sammy Bill Orchestra, the VFW Post 8543 State Band, the Mon Valley Community Band, the Mon Valley Academy for the Arts Sammy Bill Legacy Band, he was a member of the Local 592 American Federation of Musicians, and Ralph was also in the Brownsville Area 1969 National Champion Golden Falcon Marching Band.

Surviving to cherish Ralph’s memory; his beloved wife of 43 years Hillary Ann Bill, his sisters Darlene Bill and Patty (Wendy Burkholder) Bill, his sister-in-law Natalie (Michael Shargots) Massimini, and two nieces, several great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Patrick and Mary Burns and his paternal grandparents Samuel and Angelina Bill.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, June 23rd, 2025 at NOVAK-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Therese Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, PA 15401. Interment will follow mass at Mt.
