Nelson Eric Kittredge 64, of East Stroudsburg, PA died suddenly on April 22, 2014. A native of Binghamton, New York. He was preceded in death by parents Frances Eleanor and Eric Lisle Kittredge, sister Elizabeth Marie Kittredge, and brother-in-law Robert Hazen. Nelson was a graduate of Binghamton High School, Broome Community College, and West Virginia University where he received a Master’s Degree in engineering. He had a passion for bridges and enjoyed his career as a licensed professional Structural Engineer.
Nelson proudly served in the U.S. Army. His interests were varied; he was a second generation member of the National Watch Association and followed in his father’s footsteps in restoring antique watches and clocks. His many hobbies included art, photography, genealogy, trains, falconry, and fishing. He had a quick wit and loved to entertain with a story or joke. He cherished most his companion and spouse of 38 years.
Nelson was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by wife Judy Patterson Kittredge, son Justin, son David and wife Colleen, and three grandchildren, Chaim, Chloe and Malachi. Also survived by brother David Lisle Kittredge and partner Jon Flint, sister Barbara Elaine Kittredge Hazen, brother John Alan and wife Linda Marie Kittredge, and many nieces and nephews.
Nelson was a respected and positive force throughout his life in all endeavors, and he will be forever in the hearts and minds of those close to him.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 3-6 PM and Tuesday, April 29, 2014 until 11:00 AM the hour of service with Rev. Keith Conover officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Posts 295, 940 and 838.
