Mildred Marie Davies Swoger, 83, of Brownsville, Pa. passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born August 19, 1924, in Kelly Hollow, Monongahela, Pa. the daughter of the late David and Alberta Kelly Davies. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin T. Swoger, daughter Tracy Jo Swoger and brother Bill Davies.
Mildred was a member of Brownsville First United Methodist Church for 60 years. She also served her country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Her hobbies included working on jigsaw puzzles, reading romance novels and watching TV.
She is survived by her son Thomas D. Swoger, Brownsville, Pa.; two daughters Karen L. Czapiga and husband Edward, Wisconsin and Kris A. Bishop, Virginia; four grandchildren Amy, Meggan, Chad and Marshall; two great grandchildren Carlie and Owen; two sisters Derwin Thompson and husband Al, Nevada and Shirley Seman, Ohio; sister in law Janet Collins, Ohio; brother in law Glen Swoger and wife Betty, Monroeville, Pa., four special loving friends Mrs. Eleanor Storey, Mrs. Kathryn Carter, Emma Valentine, and Mrs. Priscilla Tarr; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa. Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday, October 8, 2007 until 11:00am the hour of service.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Posts 940, 838, and 295.
