Margaret Catherine (Sakel) Gurka

Margaret Catherine Sakel Gurka, 96, of East Millsboro, PA, passed away in the Uniontown Hospital on Monday, October 10, 2011.

She was born on May 1, 1915 in East Millsboro, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Hritz Sakel.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Steve Martin Gurka , son James Gurka and Several Brothers and Sisters.

Margaret was a former member of the Auxiliary of the A. Kramer Axton American Legion Post #295, Brownsville, PA, the Degree of Honor Auxiliary, Brownsville, PA, and the Brownsville Eagles #1356, Brownsville, PA.

She is survived by her 4 Children, Stephen Gurka, and wife Wilma, of Brownsburg, IN, Richard Gurka, and wife Dolores, of Walton Hills, OH, Cecilia Neace and husband Ernest, of Huntington, WV, and Joyce Orbash and husband Edwin, of Brownsville, PA.  Margaret was also survived by 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.

A Blessing Service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 12:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Fr. James Clark officiating.

Private Family Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
