Lewis E. Hartman, 83, of Fayette City, PA died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born October 10, 1924 in Albany, PA the son of the late Walter Ivan and Anna Jane Jeffries Hartman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Blanche Salisbury and Brother-in-law George Salisbury and son-in-law Thomas J. Ewing.
He was a retired Railroad car inspector on the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad in Newell, PA. He also was a member of the Brownsville Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nettie E. (Dunker) Hartman, daughter Alvina Ewing of Vanderbilt, PA, sons George T. Hartman, Clarion, PA, Walter B. Hartman and wife Thelma, Fayette City, PA, Timothy L. Hartman, Fayette City, PA, eight grandchildren Thomas K. Ewing and wife Linda and Terry A. Ewing, Vanderbilt, PA, Todd Ewing and wife Beverly, Akron, OH, George Hartman and wife Buffy, New Bethlehem, PA, Brock Hartman and wife Margery, Smithfield, PA, Brian Hartmen, Uniontown, PA Melissa Pandya and husband Shyamal, Denver CO, and Ashley Opar, Donora, PA, seven great grandchildren Jonathan and Jennifer Ewing, Vanderbuilt, PA Michael and Mathew Ewing, Akron, Oh, Taylor Hartman and Morgan Hartman, New Bethlehem, PA and Alexie Dalrymple, Donora, Pa, nieces Ada Jane Brosky, Brownsville, PA, Faith Ann Hazelbaker, Fayette City, PA, nephew Tom Salisbury, Perryopolis, PA and special friend Ron Martell, Tonasket, Washington.
There will be no public visitation. Private entombment under the direction of NOVAK FUNERAL HOME will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Lewis's name to the
Wesleyan Methodist Church (which he attended and loved)
