Lance Rummell, age 61, Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Tuesday, June 30, 1953 in Washington, Pa., son of Robert W. Rummell and Audrey (Neel) Rummell.
Lance graduated from Brownsville Area High School, Class of 1971, Westmoreland Community College in 1973 and California State University in 1974.
Lance held a variety of jobs: working in the coal mine, part-time bartender, Crime Victims Center, and various mental health facilities ending with Pressley Ridge
He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles, Victory Club and the Hiller Fire Hall.
Lance played softball in high school and throughout his life including the Over 50 League.
One of his favorite social activities was hosting annual hog roasts.
He was preceded in death by his father, and all of his grandparents, and the family pets, Ginger, Max, Betsi and Squatter.
In addition to his mother, Lance is survived by his loving wife, Sandy (Chew) Rummell; brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Colleen Rummell; nephew, Brennan Rummell; mother-in-law, Norma Chew; sister-in-law, Cheryl Dranzo; brother-in-law, Gary Chew (Kathy); niece, Jackie Dranzo; niece, Melissa Ketter (Jim); and nephew, Jeremey (Candace) Dranzo.
Family and friends will be received at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2 to 7 p.m. where his Funeral Service will be conducted from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. with Mr. Zane Mitchell officiating.
