L. Raymond Whetzel, 91, of Brownsville, PA passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born March 7, 1915 in Brownsville, PA the son of the late Louis and Trissia Sprinkle Whetzel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie L. Smith Whetzel, brother Robert L. Whetzel and daughter Judith Whetzel who died at birth.
Raymond was a charter member of the Hiller Volunteer Fire Company, and the past Exalted Ruler of the Brownsville Elks.
He will be sadly missed by his 3 children Ronald Whetzel and wife Margaret, Grindstone, PA, Susan Whetzel Franks and husband Harold, Connellsville, PA and Thomas Whetzel, Brownsville, PA, sister Madelaine Lyons, Elizabethtown, PA, 2 grandchildren Scott Franks, Connellsville, PA and Amy Franks, Connellsville, PA, great grandson Scotty Franks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front St. Brownsville, PA Friday, January 19, 2007 from 4 - 9 pm and Saturday, January 20, 2007 until 11:00am the hour of service with Rev. Paul E. Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
