Kenneth Stewart Sealy, 74, of Monessen, PA and formerly of Brownsville, PA, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at AnnaLisa's Touch of Care Personal Care Home, Perryopolis, PA.
He was born August 28, 1937 in Brownsville, PA, the son of George Clark and Mary Ellen "Polly" (Wardman) Sealy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Dorothy Chovan and Joyce Sealy and two brothers: Ronald and Richard Sealy.
Ken was a member of the Brownsville Fire Company #1 for 50 years holding positions as a nozzelman and a member of the choir. He was a past president of the Brownsville Umpires Association and he umpired for both softball and baseball. A member of the WPIAL, he refereed for high school basketball and then for 10 years he was a referee for girls college basketball for the state of Pennsylvania. For 42 years he was the official time keeper for California University basketball games. Ken also was a founding member of the BASI and a member of the United States Army. After leaving the Army he joined the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 354.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jo Louise Sealy, of Monessen, PA, 3 daughters, Hilda Ann Faith, and husband Donald J., of Washington, PA, Polly Elizabeth Buray, and husband Joe, of LaBelle, PA, Eliza Jane Billy, and husband Randy, of Brownsville, PA; step-son, Patsy James Altomari, and wife Liza, of Monessen, PA; 2 brothers, Howard K. "Bear" Sealy, of Brownsville, PA and George Clark Sealy, Jr., and wife Louise, of Ellsworth, Maine; sister, Sandy Serven, and husband Jesse, of Latham, NY; sister in law Bonnie Sealy, Brownsville, PA; five Grandchildren, Christine Carol "CC" Buray, Brianna Altomari, Alayna Altomari, Primo Altomari and Enzo Altomari and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 2 -4 and 6 - 9 PM and Wednesday, June 6, 2012 until 11:00 AM the hour of service with the Rev. David Chin officiating.
Brownsville Fire Co. #1 will honor Kenneth with services on Tuesday evening at 7 PM in the Novak Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
