Kathleen Tunney Holzapfel, 94, of Brownsville, PA, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014.
Kathleen was born on August 25, 1919 in Blainesburg, PA the daughter of Clifford and Mabel (McCleary) Tunney. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Holzapfel; two sons, Richard Lawrence Beck and Darell Glenn Beck; two sisters, Muriel (Tunney) Nickalo and Ruth (Tunney) Jones and seven brothers, William Earl Tunney, Clifford Gene Tunney, Melvin David Tunney, Edward Farnsworth Tunney, Glenn Leslie Tunney, Norman Lee Tunney and Robert Ray Tunney.
Kathleen loved her family, she loved visiting with them, remembering them all with birthday cards and tracking family history. She enjoyed playing games, especially Chinese Checkers and 500, building jigsaw puzzles, reading good books and watching Jeopardy on T.V. She was also a member of the Brownville First Christian Church, a former member of the James Chapel United Methodist Church in Finleyville, PA and former member of the Rebecca Lodge in Gastonville, PA.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Ernest Tunney and wife Judy, Maryland; Shirley Beck Johnson, Pittsburgh, PA and Jerry Beck and wife Debbie, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Walter Tunney, Blainesburg, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm and Friday, July 18, 2014 until 10:00 AM the hour of service with Rev. Paul Sandusky officiating. Interment will follow in James Chapel cemetery in Finleyville, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Amedisys Hospice.
