Joyce Sobek Obituary

Joyce Ann Sobek, 69, of Grindstone, PA passed away on January 2, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 3, 1951 in Brownsville, PA the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Bosak) Karlyak. Joyce was retired as a Fiscal Technician at Laurel House with over 40 years of service and she was the first person that they hired. She loved to shop, make crafts (especially her beautiful wreaths) and supporting the JET PAC Dancers. She was also a member of St. Cecilia RC Church, Grindstone, PA.

Surviving are her husband, Stanley “Stush” Sobek, of Grindstone, PA; one daughter, Juliann Braddock and husband Alex, of West Brownsville, PA, one son, Jonathan “Mush” Sobek and Kayla Gray, of Grindstone, PA and one sister, Kathy Carlson, of Grindstone, PA.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 2 – 8 PM. **PLEASE NOTE DUE TO EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES JOYCE'S FUNERAL MASS AT ST. CECILIA RC CHURCH, GRINDSTONE, PA SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2021 AT 10 AM HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. HER VISITATION WILL STILL BE HELD TODAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 2 UNTIL 8 PM WITH THE FOLLOWING COVID RESTRICTIONS LISTED BELOW IN PLACE**

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA
