Joanna Dorothy Boyd, 91, of Grindstone, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Laurel Ridge Center of Uniontown. She was born October 9, 1932 in Brownsville, PA to the late William and Dorothy {Reagan} Gribble. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Boyd, Jr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to his death in 2010, son Gary and son-in-law Donald Mayne, sisters Donna Ochmann and Nancy Yeardie and brothers William and Homer Gribble.
Joanna enjoyed spending time with her family, playing 31, baking and cooking. She enjoyed watching her game shows, playing solitaire on the computer and looking through Facebook. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching golf on TV. She really liked going to the local casinos with her family.
Surviving to cherish Joanna’s memory are her children, Harry Boyd and wife Dana of Vanderbilt; Daughter-in-law Candace Boyd of Grindstone; Thomas Boyd and wife Jennifer of Haywood, VA; Donna Mayne of Smock; Douglas Boyd and wife Sandra of Brownsville; Audrey Stevelack and husband Joseph of Lakewood, OH; Cheryl Young and husband Brian of Frederick, MD; Brian Boyd and wife Natalie of Grindstone; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sisters, Patricia Higinbotham of Blainsburg, and Susan Winters of West Farmington, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Novak-Melenyzer Funeral Home, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417, on Wednesday, June 5th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm and Thursday, June 6th, from 10:00 to 11:00am at which time funeral services will begin with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. The funeral service will be available via live stream on the Novak-Melenyzer Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
