Jerry Norman Young, 81, passed away peacefully at VA Hospice at H.J. Heinz Campus on October 8th, 2025. Jerry was born on September 6th, 1944 in Brownsville to the late Kendall and Wanda (Blaney) Young.
Following high school, Jerry served honorably in the United States Army where he completed one tour in Vietnam. Jerry was a construction worker and was a member of the American Labor Construction Union. Jerry graduated from Brashear High School Class of 1962. He played baseball in Pony League and for Brashear High School. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and loved to watch and listen to every single game. Jerry loved the Brownsville area and all the friends and families he grew up with will all cherish his memories and will miss him dearly.
Surviving to cherish Jerry’s memory; his brother Donald “Po” (Judy) Young and numerous nieces and nephews and his favorite little companion Bussy.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Harold Young, James Young, Loretta Rauhecker, and Elizabeth Alman.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00p.m., at which time the funeral service will begin inside the funeral home on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at NOVAK-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417.
