Jacob Wilson Vance, 79, of Brownsville, PA passed away on Monday, July 09, 2007 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born February 27, 1928 in Brownsville, the son of the late Jacob and Hettie (Hicks) Vance. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers William H. Vance & James K. Vance, and a sister Margaret A. Hoye.
Jake was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 60 years and a loyal member of the Brownsville Lodge #60 F&AM. He also was a veteran of the United States Army.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Lois G. Miller Vance, Brownsville, PA; son Eric L. Rihaly and wife Gayla, Lancaster, PA; 2 grandsons Brian and Jason; a brother Robert L. Vance, Trenton, Michigan; 2 sisters Lorraine Lunden, Penn Hills, PA and Sally Vaughan, Manassass, VA; five nieces and 9 nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street Brownsville, PA today from 6 - 8pm, Wednesday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8pm and Thursday, July 12, 2007 until 11:00am the hour of service.
Interment will follow at Sylvian Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Brownsville Lodge #60 F&AM will conduct a service tonight at 7:30am in the funeral home.
