Irwin Andrew Sholtas, 88, of Grindstone, PA, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014.
He was born May 29, 1926, in Brownsville, PA, the son of Stephen and Mary (Youhouse) Sholtas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Edward.
Irwin started his career in the garment industry before going to work in the coal mine. He also served in the United States Navy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Annabelle (Stevenson) Sholtas, Grindstone, PA; two sons Stephen Sholtas and wife Michele, Perryopolis, PA and Brian Sholtas, Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Stephen Sholtas, Washington, DC and Stephanie Infantino and husband Jeremy, Erie, PA; and two great granddaughters, Harper and Bella Infantino.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 6 - 9 PM and Friday, October 31, 2014 until 1:00 PM, the hour of service with the Rev. Wayne Boring officiating.
Intombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
