Howard "Howdy" "Legs" Edwin Martin (Yoders)

Howard “Howdy” “Legs” Edwin Martin (Yoders), 73, of Grindstone, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on August 13, 2024. Howdy was born on August 27th, 1950 to the late Harry and Thelma (James) Yoders.

Legs enjoyed his days working on one of his many corvettes, which he would build from the frame up piece-by-piece. Howdy loved to hunt and fish with his son Cody, cutting grass, working on his Wheel Horse Tractors, enjoying an ice-cold beer and cherished his long car rides with his beloved wife of 53 years Bonnie. Legs loved spending his time with his wife, children and grandchildren of whom will miss him dearly.

Surviving to cherish Howdy’s memory; his wife Bonnie Martin, his children Tracy (Bill) Hutchison, Terry Holmes, Larry States, Sherry (Bill) Mick, Tammy (Adam) Bullied, and Cody (Ashley) Martin. His grandchildren, William Hutchison III, Ashley (Shawn) Large, Dalton Tosi, Larry States Jr, Nathan States, Cameron (Misty) Mick, Stephanie Mick, Kyle (Bree) Gray, Ava Bullied, Adam Bullied Jr, Keana Martin, Aundrea Martin, and Cali Martin. Legs’ great-grandchildren, Tyler Anderson, Atlas Mick, Briellia Gray; his siblings Karen (Steve) Hatfield, Mickey (Patty) Yoders, Darrell Yoders, Diane (Ralph) Fisher, Marlene Higbee.

In addition to his parents, Howdy is preceded in death by his sister Laureen Martin and his grandson Timothy “Biggie” Mick.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, August, 16th, 2024 at Novak-Melenyzer Funeral Home, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 inside the funeral with Pastor Jeff Marton officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
