George "Puggy" Stanovich, 92, of Brownsville, PA passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA.
He was born April 22, 1914 in Brownsville, PA, the son of the late John and Mary Stanovich. He was also preceded in death by his wife Rose Lee Stagesin Stanovich, an infant son George Stanovich, an infant granddaughter Velma Ross, a granddaughter Amy Jo Confer Ross and a great granddaughter Jenna Ross.
George was a member of the United Mine Workers Association and a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, PA.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters Barbara Colman and husband Edwin, Hudson, FL, Marlene Voytovich and husband Tom, Braznell, PA, Rose Lee Ross and husband Jack, Brownsville, PA and Michelle Kraft and husband Robert Jr., Uniontown, PA; 8 grandchildren: Roberta & Michael Infanti, Fla., Diane Wolanin, Fla., Denise and John Gerling, Ill., Tom Voytovich who lived with his grandfather in Brownsville, PA, Jackie and Kenny Ross, John Ross, Brownsville, PA, Amy Kraft, Uniontown, PA and fiance Scott Carl, and Roberta and Paul Rubish, Pittsburgh, PA, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street Brownsville today from 6-9pm and Friday, from 2-4 and 6-9pm. A Panachida Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, May 27, at 9:30am followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, PA with the Rev. Father Jerome T. Botsko as celebrant. A Parastas Service will be held Friday at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
