Faye Bailey Birkle, 100, of Brownsville, PA passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, PA where she has been living.
She was born October 18, 1905 in Vanderbilt, PA the daughter of the late Ira D. and Anna Daugherty Bailey. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Birkle who passed away in 1977, 2 brothers Charles M. and Ira H. Bailey, and a sister Gene B. Crawford.
Faye was a member of the Brownsville Fire Co. No. #1 Ladies' Auxiliary, the Al phecca club, and a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, formerly of Brownsville, PA. She also worked as a bookkeeper most of her life starting at Ward's Supply Co. in West Brownsville, PA, then Superior Auto Parts in Brownsville, PA and finally retiring from Yuhas Auto Parts in Brownsville, Pa in 1993.
She will be sadly missed by her son Joseph Kern Birkle and wife Nancy, Groton, CT, 4 granddaughters Christine Guarino, Devon Weisensee, Greta Jones and Gretchen Birkle, 2 nieces Becky Patterson and Sally Vance both of Brownsville, PA, 1 nephew Keith Bailey and wife JoAnne, several great grandchildren and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville tomorrow from 2-4pm and 6-9pm and Tuesday, May 30, 2006 until 1:00pm the hour of service with Rev. Paul E. Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, PA
