Elizabeth "Liz" Zias

Elizabeth "Liz" Zias, 62, of Grindstone, PA, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela, PA.

She was born January 21, 1953 in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of John Charles and Sue Ann (Parkins) MacPherson Spahr. She was preceded in death by her father.

Liz was a member of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Smock, PA. She served as an Elder there and also was a board member of Presbyterian Women of Redstone. She belonged to the Mon Valley Health Plex in Belle Vernon, where she met many wonderful friends. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 34 years, Eugene M. Zias of Grindstone, PA; two children, Eugene M. Zias, Jr. and Ashley Zias and her partner, Paul Howes; her mother Sue Anne Spahr; four brothers, John C. MacPherson, III, Robert W. MacPherson, Paul R. MacPherson and Thomas A. MacPherson; sister in law, Virginia Vojacek and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. On Tuesday, August 4, 2015 there will be viewing at the PLEASANT VIEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 533 Royal Road, Smock, PA, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, the hour of service, with Rev. John Charles MacPherson, III, officiating.

Liz wanted this to be a Celebration of Life and requested that instead of black everyone wear bright colors!
