Dorothy Mae (Croft) DeMark

Dorothy Mae Croft DeMark, 88, of Brownsville, PA, transitioned from her life on earth Saturday, February 25, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 9, 1923, in East Pike Run Twp., California, PA the daughter of the late John Henry and Jane Johnson (Harris) Croft.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by former husband B.J. "Dutch" DeMark, of Fairchance, PA, and one sister, Nellie Dannels, of Somerset, PA.

Dorothy served as a Sunday school teacher and organist at Taylor United Methodist Church in Brownsville, PA for many years.  She was previously employed by Ted Petro of Kitchen Interiors of Hopwood, PA.

She will be sadly missed by her 4 daughters, Joan Bernadette DeMark, of Sarasota, FL, Valerie Jane Gmutza, and husband Edward, of Brownsville, PA, Dottie DeMark, of Skagway, AK and Janine DeMark Parker, and husband David, of Littleton, CO; 2 sisters, Betty Leonard, of Brownsville, PA and Joan Weiss, of Centerville, PA, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Thursday, March 1, 2012 until 2:00 PM, the hour of service, with the Rev. Stephen Morganti officiating.

Interment will follow at Phillipsburg Cemetery, California, PA.
