Donald Wilson Swogger, 88, of Hiller, PA, passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
He was born June 15, 1924, in Brownsville, PA, the son of Charles B. and Margaret (New) Swogger.
A 1942 graduate of Brownsville High School, Donald served during World War II in the United States Navy Armed Guard on various ships in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea.
A master plumber by training, he operated a plumbing and heating business in Brownsville for many years. Donald was also retired from the Washington County Health Center as the Director of Environmental Services.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vivian Swogger, Hiller, PA; son Keith Swogger, Niles, Illinois; two daughters Nancy McCann and husband Paul, Uniontown, PA and Pamela Wardman and husband Rev. David Wardman, Frostburg, MD; two grandchildren, Melissa and Adam; two brothers; one sister and his beloved cat Sam.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private.
