Once again, the Heaven bound train pulled into the station and the conductor said, Donald Lee Shazer, 82, of Brownsville, PA, get on board. He boarded that train on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
He was born July 14, 1934 in Palmer, PA (German Twp), the son of Lawrence and Bessie (Mitchell) Shazer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Shazer Chiovitti.
Donald was a kind and generous man who loved his family, nature and animals. He was a mechanic and a self-taught carpenter and handyman, who was always willing to help others.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy (Thomas) Shazer, Brownsville, PA; daughter Melinda Shazer, Grindstone, PA; grandson Justin Chiovitti, Grindstone, PA; son in law, Silvio Chiovitti, Grindstone, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA, on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held with Pastor Katy Yates Brungraber officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Donald’s name to Fayette Friends of Animals, 223 Village of Searights, Uniontown, PA 15401 of which he always supported.
