Corbin James "Jim" Jeffries, 83, of Waynesburg, passed away at home on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Born on October 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Aaron and Cora Mae Milan Jeffries. He was retired from Assad Iron & Metal, having worked as a crane operator for over 40 years. He enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash music, playing the guitar, and watching Steelers football and Pirates baseball. Jim is survived by his wife, Loretta May Yost Kennedy Jeffries; children, James (Patricia) Jeffries, Connie (Milo) Messenger, Corbin H. (Lois) Jeffries, and Cynthia (Tom) Evans; step-children, Melinda (Robert) Benette, Dreama (John) Henderson, and James (Edna) Kennedy; sisters, Sandy Shumar and Kathy Wise; brothers, Randy Jeffries and Aaron Jeffries; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his first wife and mother to his children, Nellie Broadwater Jeffries; infant daughter, Ethel Renee Jeffries; and grandson, Corbin James Jeffries II. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front St., Brownsville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Roger Diehl, with interment following in LaFayette Memorial Park.
