Richard Lawrence Dillon, Sr., 79, of Brownsville PA passed away on Monday, October, 2, 2017 at his home.

He was born September 23, 1938 in Connellsville, PA, the son of the late James and Olive (Shaffer) Dillon.

Richard was a biology teacher for 42 years at the California High School and owned a home building business, RL Dillon and Sons.  As a member of Grace United Methodist Church he was a lay leader for approximately 40 years and organized and led the Easter Sunrise Service for more than 20 years.  He also held many evangelist services in local churches.  Richard also organized and sponsored Teens for Christ at the California High School for many years. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sheila (Pervoy) Dillon, of Brownsville, PA; 3 Sons David Dillon and wife Tracy, of Washington, PA, Donald Dillon and wife Renee, of Uniontown, PA and Richard Dillon, Jr. of Blainesburg, PA; 4 Sisters Arleen Linderman, JoAnn Spence, Doris Beatty and Shirley Rosenburger; 9 Grandchildren Brenna, Sara, Emily, Tyler, Donald, Danny, Tanner, Jeremy and Jordan. 

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 2-8 PM and on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the GRACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, COAL CENTER, PA from 10-11 AM where the funeral service will be held at 11 AM with pastor Ken Custer officiating.

Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery, Charleroi, PA.
