Melinda W. Bowman, 75, of Brier Hill, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born on December 23, 1943 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Melville Ames Wardwell and Mary Gorgas Wardwell. Her parents preceded her in death. Melinda graduated from Buchtel High School in 1961 and went on to Denison University from which she graduated in 1964. She was a selfemployed artist who worked in many mediums. She belonged to Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church in Brownsville. One of Melinda's favorite places on earth was Duck, North Carolina on the Outerbanks. She will be sadly missed by her husband, W. Scott Bowman of Brier Hill; three children, Ames B. Shea of Avon, Connecticut, John W. Bowman of Atlanta, Georgia, and Matthew Bowman of Moon Township, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by and will be missed by her brother Geoff Wardwell of Naples, Florida, four grandchildren and three nephews. Services were private. Arrangements and professional services were handled by Novak Funeral Home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations to Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church at 20 Thornton Rd, Brownsville, PA 15417 are welcome.
