Martin Vojacek Obituary

Martin L. Vojacek, 69, of Grindstone, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. with his loving family by his side. He was born March 3, 1948 in Uniontown, PA, the son of Stephen George and Margaret (Galderisi) Vojacek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Stephen “Pinky” Vojacek. Martin served in the US Air Force. He was a member of Colonial #3 Athletic Club, Smock Gun Club and Steelworkers Union Local 2227. He worked at USS Irvin works for 34 years where he was the best overhead crane operator they ever had. Martin had many hobbies and interests including, stats, analyzing numbers, sports and politics; loved watching his grandchildren Ben and Adam playing ball for Jefferson Twp; big Penn State fan; avid hunter at Camp Vo and watching hummingbirds and all things nature. He enjoyed having many friends who thought of him as a father figure. He was a huge fan of Donald J. Trump and his tweets and loved watching Fox News. Trump 2020! He will be sadly missed by his wife Virginia Katherine (Zias) Vojacek, two sons, Martin Vojacek, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Brownsville, PA and Matthew Vojacek and wife Jessica, Fredericktown, PA; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Adam, Lillian and Altin, who were the light of his life; sister, Concetta Bodnar and husband Larry, Greensburg, PA; brother Joseph Vojacek, Masontown, PA and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2 – 9 PM and on Monday, January 22, 2018 until 9:15 AM where a prayer service will be held, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 571 Grindstone Road, Grindstone, PA with Rev. Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as celebrant. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion posts 295, 940, 838 and 275 following Prayers of Transfer at the funeral home.
