Terry Wooten Obituary

Terry Lee Wooten, 68, of West Brownsville, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, January 12, 2024. Born in Uniontown, Terry was a son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Caton) Wooten.

In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his son Mark Costello, his brother Billie Wooten, and his sister Lucille Burnworth.

Surviving to cherish Terry’s memory are his wife of 38 years, Garnet Wooten of West Brownsville, his daughter Tanna Wooten Thompson of California and his sons, Ronald and daughter-in-law Michelle Costello, Domenic Costello, and daughter-in-law Beth Costello Maloy all of West Brownsville. Terry’s grandchildren, Justina (Costello) Haines (Bryer), Kayla Costello, Hayden Costello, Mark Costello, LaQuanda Thompson, Jasmeca Taylor, Ambrea Taylor, Jelani Stafford, Damani Stafford. His great-grandchildren, Izaiah, Jaeceon, Skye, Christian, Caysen, Kameron, Jhoslynn, Natalia, Armani, Myara, Miauri, and Aceyn and special little buddy his great-grandson Beau Haines.

Terry is also survived by his sibling; Belva (Sis) Price, Lillian (Lou) Gordon, Leann Martin, Donna Foriska (Marty), Barbara (Babe) Budner (Steve), James Wooten (Mary Jane) and special brother-in-laws, George Noga and Wilbur Burnworth.

Terry was employed as a long-distance truck driver and was also a proprietor of Costello & Wooten Property Management LLC. He was a member of the Calvary Church of Nazarene in Coal Center. He was a retired fireman from the West Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and boating. Terry never knew a stranger and loved helping others.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Monongahela Amedysis Hospice team for their services. The family would also like to thank Pastor Rodney Johnson for the care and compassion shown during a very difficult time.    

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, and from 10:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, at which time funeral services will begin, with Pastor Ryan Baird officiating, in the NOVAK-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA 15417. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
